After spending all your hard-earned cash on the wedding of your dreams, why not top it off the way the celebrities do - with a perfect honeymoon. Here are some top tips for making your honeymoon special, as well as some of the best places to go.
Choosing where you want to go is the hardest part - do you want a holiday abroad, in the UK or do you just want to relax closer to home? Your honeymoon is what you make it – whether you are prefer the sun, sea and sand of Barbados, or whether you prefer getting muddy on a walking holiday in the Lake District, as long as you relax, have fun and get to know your new spouse better! ![]() Here are some of the top places, as well as some more unusual places, that are perfect for your honeymoon: Malta Malta holidays are popular due to the ninety-five square miles of island, also being home to beautiful sandy beaches and secluded coves and bays next to cerulean blue waters. Set against the backdrop of the island’s scenery and its honey-coloured stone buildings, Malta is alluring and fascinating. Barbados Barbados is known as the 'Little England' of the Caribbean, but this does not mean that the locals have given up rotis for kidney pies, or rum for bitter ale. Bajans, as the islanders call themselves, are as West Indian as any of their other Caribbean neighbours, and have been seen to selectively borrow rather than assume English customs. It does boast however, golden beaches and pure seas as well as a large rhythm for life. Menorca Menorca is one of the most untouched islands in the Mediterranean, and is the quietist of all the Balearic Islands. It is a popular holiday location, although with its quiet lifestyle it does not reflect islands such as Ibiza. The development of resorts has been almost prohibited, whihc means that there are many unspoilt rural areas, as well as many secluded, quiet beaches to be found. The island is only nine miles wide and thirty-two miles long, with enchanting stretches of silver sanded beaches and curving bays. The cultural activities are just as varied, with a colourful blend of native and European influences. Dublin, Ireland Dublin is the artistic capital of Ireland, with its colourful and cosmopolitan atmosphere drawing artists and visitors to it for over a thousand years. On a weekend break in Dublin visitors can explore the rich array of historical and cultural treasures the city has to offer and drink in the ornate architecture of the Georgian buildings and ancient cathedrals throughout the city. As the birthplace of many famous poets and writers throughout history and still home to many modern literary giants, weekend breaks in Dublin are a cultural delight. Scotland Scotland has much to offer, from bustling cities steeped in heritage, to wild countryside that is perfect for exploring. There are many cultural sites, such as the Wold Heritage Site on the Orkney Isles, and the streets of Edinburgh lined with history. There is something for everyone within Scotland, which is perfect for an unusual and relaxing honeymoon. Last edited by Holidays Info : 04-02-2008 at 09:43 AM. |
