Are last minute holidays the best way of getting a deal, or do they leave you wishing that you hadn’t even thought about going on holiday this year? Every experience of last minute holidays is different, and you can’t always tell when you are headed to your idea of a heavenly or a hellish holiday.

Personal experience suggests that there are good ways of finding a last minute deal. The travel agents were very helpful, and let us look at as many descriptions and pictures of the hotel and a map of the area as possible, giving us the best opportunity of finding somewhere excellent to stay. When we arrived we were happy with our choice, and found that the cheap price had afforded us a comfortable and really pleasant holiday.
