Default San Francisco, California

I traveled to San Francisco in 1999 (I was 13 at the time) and have some great memories.

We stayed in a flat in the city center on Golden Gate Avenue.
There is always plenty to do in San Francisco.

My best memory was Alcatraz, the famous prison off the coast of San Francisco that shut in the late 60s and is now open to public.

The Golden Gate bridge is also very impressive and the well-known Lombard Street that is famous for having a steep, one-block section that consists of tight hairpin turns.

Alcatraz sounds like a really interesting place to visit. I assume they turned it into a museum, with a guided tour? I'd love to visit there someday..
